We want to take a moment to talk about what’s happening in Minnesota.
Donald Trump sent ICE to terrorize communities across the state. Agents are beating civilians. They are causing chaos and destruction. And one even shot and killed a mother—Renee Good.
Instead of turning down the temperature, Trump is intentionally stoking the flames. He’s even threatened to invoke the Insurrection Act—an extraordinary and dangerous escalation.
What’s happening is entirely unacceptable. But seeing the people of Minnesota organizing their communities against Trump’s authoritarianism is nothing short of inspiring, and we stand behind them.
Why? Because action is the antidote to despair. Community action. Community organizing. Bringing our neighbors together to show that we reject this, and that we are willing to fight for something better.
We know that Trump won’t stop with Minnesota. He’s willing to bring his political games anywhere, anytime. So we have to stay organized and ready here in Texas—just like we were in the summer during the gerrymandering fight.
