Last week, I was proud to cast my vote to protect millions of Americans' access to life-changing healthcare subsidies
The ACA subsidies lower monthly premiums, help families afford prescriptions, and give people peace of mind that a single ER visit won’t bankrupt them.
MAGA Republicans have let those tax credits expire. So even though we do not control the chamber, Democrats forced a vote and passed an extension in the House.
We made them go on the record and explain to the American people why they’re willing to raise health care costs on working families while standing up shamelessly for the rich and powerful.
And here’s the lesson: when we work together with a clear goal and focus on serving the public good, government can actually work for the people, and we can get things done. We can force accountability. We can change the conversation. And with the House majority, we can pass policies that move our country forward.
