I want to be direct with you about something that's been on my mind.

In my years in public service, I've always believed that regardless of party, there are certain principles we don't compromise on. Free and fair elections. Independent oversight. The basic idea that the rules apply to everyone, including the people in charge.

That’s why what’s happening right now troubles me deeply.

Donald Trump and his Republicans aren't only pushing dangerous policies – they're actively weakening the guardrails that allow voters to hold their leaders accountable. They've gutted inspectors general, sidelined independent oversight, and now they're looking for ways to tilt the playing field in the midterms.

Frankly, it’s weak and pathetic – and the consequences to our country are immensely concerning.

It’s clear that right now, there’s no way for us to hold Trump accountable or bring transparency back to our government – not with Republicans in charge caving to his every whim and every move.

If we want to finally turn the page on this dangerous chaos, we need to flip the balance of power in Washington – and we need to win in numbers so big even Trump can’t deny them.
