Monday, January 12, 2026: On Saturday, I was honored to be in Waco in Haralson County where I spoke at the monthly Haralson County GOP meeting. Located near the Alabama state line west of Atlanta, Waco was originally named Dean and has a history tied to cotton, lumber and local millwork. Chartered as Waco in 1885 it is now home to West Georgia Technical College. Afterwards, I drove south to Carrollton in Carroll County through a terrible thunderstorm that spawned a tornado nearby. Once in Carrollton, I was honored to speak at the inaugural meeting of the West Georgia Young Republicans. After flying back home later that afternoon and getting to spend 12 hours at home, I got up early Sunday morning and drove to Tifton in Tift County, north of Valdosta and west of Waycross in South Georgia, where I was honored to attend Tifton First Methodist Church led by Senior Pastor Rev. Chip Grantham. Afterwards, I drove to the Georgia Freight Depot at the State Capitol in Atlanta where I attended the 63rd annual Wild Hog Supper, an event that has long been seen as the kick-off event of the legislative session and is held in support of the Feeding Georgia food bank network. After flying back to Washington this morning, I’m back in our office and begin with a meeting with my Chief of Staff, Deputy Chief of Staff and Legislative Director (a group I refer to as our office’s nucleus) to discuss office business before meeting with our communications staff followed by a meeting with our district staff. Next, I meet with Federal Communications Commission (FCC) commissioner Anna Gomez for a preview of our upcoming Energy and Commerce (E&C) Committee hearing this week before taping a podcast on the John Solomon Podcast where we discuss the Minnesota fraud situation. Afterwards, I join in on the CoinDesk Twitter Space, along with Marshall Hayner, CEO of Metallicus, for a discussion on Digital Assets and U.S. Competitiveness. Next, I have a meeting with our scheduling team followed by a meeting with our legislative team before heading to our weekly Whip Team meeting. After our first vote series of the week, I remain in the Chamber and pay tribute to Fort Stewart for being included in the top 2025 U.S. Army News from the year and then head off Capitol Hill for a dinner with E&C members and FCC Chairman Brendan Carr.
