Good morning, my friend! I hope you are well!
We got the most disappointing snow last night. You can still see a thin coating on top of the vehicles, but there's nary a flake to be found anywhere else. Seriously, Mother Nature: if you are going to bring us snow, commit and bring us a winter wonderland!
This morning I'm going to get another iron infusion. I've been getting them weekly as per my doctor. It's quite a simple process. You simply go in at your appointment time, they put an IV in your arm, and a very strong iron supplement goes straight into your bloodstream. They're able to make it this strong because, unlike oral supplements, this doesn't go to your stomach. If you are anemic and your doctor offers this, I cannot recommend it highly enough. It gets your numbers back on track immediately and increases your energy within the first couple of appointments.
Mine was prescribed for 8 weeks, and this has been so worthwhile. It takes an hour for the bag to be delivered, and a bit of time on either side for assessment. We're usually there for close to two hours if you figure in finding parking and getting to the infusion clinic inside the hospital. I guess I've been anemic for quite some time, because the thing I keep marvelling over is getting through an entire day without feeling at all sleepy. I had no idea what a toll this was taking on my energy levels. I'm very thankful this treatment is not only available, but is also covered by my insurance.
In other news, I still haven't taken down my Christmas tree. I am one of those people with their holiday decorations almost a month after the holiday. This is my afternoon task, without deviation. I know I'm not alone because I live in an apartment complex and I can see the trees of others in the windows at night. Maybe we aren't lazy, and we all want to make the bleak month of January a little brighter. (There, I've justified it in case you, too, still have your tree up!)
I wish I'd gotten up early enough to write more to you, but for now I need to close and get ready to head out for that infusion I was mentioning.
I hope this week brings you all the very best.
Stay safe.
Be happy.
Love,
Daisy
