Hey John, I’m
reaching out to you because what’s happening right now with redistricting
demands our attention — and our action.

We’ve seen this playbook before. In my home state of Texas, Trump and Greg
Abbott rammed through a gerrymandered congressional map that attempts to
steal five Democratic seats. And it didn’t stop there.

Trump knows how deeply unpopular his agenda is. He knows that this means
he’s going to lose his majority in the House of Representatives. And he
knows that when he does, there will finally be a check on his lawlessness,
accountability for his crimes and corruption, and real hope for a better
future for this country.

But instead of changing course, he’s trying to cling to power by rigging
the system itself. That’s what these attacks on free and fair elections
are really about.

Across the country, Trump’s Republicans are trying to choose their voters
instead of the other way around. We can’t stand by while that happens.

That’s why Virginia matters so much right now.

Virginians for Fair Elections is leading the fight to level the playing
field by advancing a temporary, emergency redistricting amendment — one
that puts voters first and gives the people of Virginia the final say.

This amendment would allow for updated congressional maps for the upcoming
elections, and Virginians will be able to see the proposed maps for
themselves before casting a vote.
