John,
Parkland learned this the hard way. Florida is choosing to forget.
HB 133 lowers the age to buy a gun from 21 to 18. It dismantles a
life-saving law passed after the shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High
School, when lawmakers acknowledged that giving teenagers access to guns
costs lives.
All week, students and advocates warned them. Letters were delivered in
Tallahassee. Organizers said plainly what this would do. On Thursday,
mobile billboards circled the Capitol with one message: do not reverse the
age limit.

On Thursday, the Florida House passed HB 133 anyway.
That vote is a betrayal of survivors. It rejects evidence. It accepts more
dead teenagers as collateral damage.
This fight is not over. The contents of HB 133 still must pass the Florida
Senate to become law. We will fight it there, alongside students,
survivors, and communities who refuse to be sacrificed.

reaches the Senate.

This is what long term movement building looks like — staying visible,
staying loud, and refusing to let progress be undone quietly.
