John,
This week, the House voted 341 to 79 to fund Trump’s war driven foreign policy agenda in bill H.R. 7006.
Jimmy Gomez voted YES.
Only 57 Democrats voted NO.
The bill was a massive appropriations package that pours money into violence and human rights violations abroad while Trump slashes health care, food assistance, and lifesaving programs at home and around the world.
Let’s be clear about what this vote means:
While Americans are losing access to health care, while families are struggling to afford prescriptions, while clinics are closing and public health programs are under attack, Congress just approved billions more to bankroll war and militarism.
At the same time, Trump has dragged us into an unconstitutional war in Venezuela, backed governments committing human rights abuses, ignored international law, and chosen threats and force over diplomacy.
This bill funds that agenda. Jimmy Gomez voted for it anyway.
I would not have.
I believe government should save lives, not take them. I believe we should be funding health care, housing, food, education, and peace, not endless wars and human rights abuses. I believe Congress has a responsibility to say no when a bill causes real harm to everyday people here and abroad.
That is why I’m running for Congress.
If we want representatives who will vote no on bills like this, who will put people before war, and who will refuse to rubber stamp Trump’s cruelty, we have to build the power to elect them.
Please, chip in $5 today to help send me to Congress, where I will stand up to Trump and be a voice for working families in CA-34. Your donation helps our campaign organize, reach voters, and replace politicians who keep choosing war over people.
These votes matter. And with your help, we can change who gets to make them.
Thank you for being part of this fight,
Angela
