John, I’ll be candid with you:
Growing up, I lived a very ordinary life.
My parents started married life in a trailer park where my brother was born.
When I came along, we moved to a cramped apartment in the shadow of the steel plant where my dad, uncles, and grandpa worked.
My mom stretched a can of Spam to feed six kids. We bought our clothes on layaway at used clothing stores because we didn’t have money.
But starting with these humble beginnings gives me a greater appreciation for the struggles of families today.
That’s why I’m fighting like hell every day to lower costs for families and put money back in New Yorkers’ pockets. But as we speak, Donald Trump and his MAGA allies are cutting our health care and jacking up prices with their reckless tariff tax hikes — which Blakeman called “an amazing job.” [[link removed]]

While I’m fighting to make our state more affordable for all New Yorkers, Bruce Blakeman applauded Trump after he gutted Medicaid and SNAP benefits and ran Long Island’s safety net hospital into the ground by appointing corrupt cronies to run it.
