John,

This year, we are watching multiple court battles that could dismantle our ability to tackle the climate crisis head-on. The Trump administration is no longer just ignoring science — it is actively using the Department of Justice and the Supreme Court as a legal shield for Big Oil.

We cannot let them rig the rules in the dark. Before we dive into the details of these legal threats, we need your help to build a defense. Will you chip in $5 today to help SEEC PAC elect the climate champions we need to fight back against this judicial overreach? [[link removed]]

A DOJ Power Grab: In an unprecedented move, Trump’s Department of Justice is suing five states to block laws that hold fossil fuel companies financially accountable for environmental damage. They claim these states are "unreasonably burdening" the energy industry — putting corporate profits above your right to clean air and water.

The Supreme Court Showdown: A looming case will determine if local governments can be barred from suing companies like ExxonMobil and Suncor in state courts. While the Court has rejected these bids before, the Trump administration is now formally backing the oil industry, giving the conservative supermajority the "green light" they need to shut down accountability nationwide.

The EPA Rollback: Any day now, the EPA is expected to finalize the rollback of the landmark 2009 “Endangerment Finding.” This is the legal foundation for nearly all federal climate rules. If it is overturned, we expect a massive legal battle in the courts.

The Trump Administration’s strategy is clear: If they can’t win the argument on the facts, they’ll try to rig the rules in the courts.

SEEC PAC is dedicated to electing climate champions who will stand up to this overreach. Can you chip in $5 today to help us prepare for the battles ahead and make sure we have the resources to fight back against these attempts to harm our environment? [[link removed]]

The courts may be the latest battlefield, but the power still rests with the people we elect to represent us. Thank you for standing with us.
