Last summer, Democratic Reps. Shri Thanedar and Steve Cohen both voted for
a resolution in Congress to “express gratitude” for ICE. While Thanedar
and Cohen were voting to thank ICE, Trump was actively deploying the US
military to Los Angeles to crush peaceful anti-ICE protests. These are our
Democratic lawmakers in action!

That’s why Leaders We Deserve is proud to support Democratic primary
challengers in both of these districts and usher in a new wave of
Democrats who don’t fold when it matters most. We can’t keep electing
Democrats who are this out of touch. We need young bold leaders like
Donavan McKinney and Justin J. Pearson who are the best of what the next
generation has to offer — not more of the status quo.

ICE is terrorizing our communities. And we need Democrats who are actively
fighting back.

That's why this cycle we’re challenging Democrats who have truly failed to
meet this moment and are in safe congressional seats that in no way risk
us losing the House. Our party cannot be seen as complicit in the invasion
of our communities by masked federal agents who are there purely to
terrorize communities and be Trump's paramilitary force. Our party cannot
just stand by and applaud communities standing up to ICE while the
Democratic Members of Congress with the real power to make change do
little to nothing to stop ICE and even make it a priority to thank ICE.

If you are tired of having a party that says it can’t do anything because
it’s in the minority and then miraculously still claims it can't do
anything because of Republicans even when we have all three branches of
government, now is the time to join us in this movement and build a party
that actually fights back.
