We are writing to formally announce the 2026 BYD Executive Board elections, which will take place at our February General Body Meeting on Thursday, February 26.
In accordance with the BYD Constitution and Bylaws, elections are held at the first meeting in February each year, with notice provided to the membership at least four weeks in advance. Elections will be presided over by a Board Advisor (Anya Lehr) as the Presiding Officer designated by the President in accordance with the BYD Constitution.
Positions Up for Election
The Executive Board currently consists of eight (8) elected voting members:
President
Executive Vice President
North Brooklyn Regional Vice President
Central Brooklyn Regional Vice President
Southern Brooklyn Regional Vice President
Secretary
Treasurer
Vice President of Membership
We also are also exploring the possibility of replacing our Regional Roles with new elected voting members of a Political Director and an Organizing Director.
That will require a constitutional amendment voted on by the body and a special election. We still encourage people to apply for the regional roles and/or express interest in the new roles.
Endorsements Committee
We are also looking for interest in appointed roles, as well as a few people to be on our Enedorsments Committee.
This will be a group of people that help run our endorsment process - and we need folks with different backgrounds. Are you organized and love emails? Are you interested in research and data? Maybe you are operationally minded and can help us make sure forums run smoothly.
