On Thursday, FBI agents invaded the home of Washington Post reporter Hannah Natanson and seized her computers, journalistic materials — even personal items and jewelry.
This is exactly the kind of free press violation the First Amendment was designed to prevent.

The invasion of Hannah Natanson’s home didn't happen in a vacuum. Under this administration:
- Trump has sued media outlets and called for jailing journalists.
- Attorney General Bondi has weakened protections for the press.
- DHS agents have brutalized journalists covering protests.
- Authorities have detained journalists for filming law enforcement officers, and even deported one.
Our country’s founders knew that a free press is essential to exposing the abuses of those in power. We need an independent media to hold leaders accountable.
