Will you take a moment to share our new report?

We can’t let this go under the radar: the U.S. Supreme Court may be on the verge of decimating fair representation.

If, as seems likely, the far-right majority guts Section 2 of the Voting Rights Act in Louisiana v. Callais, lawmakers will be able to leap into a frenzy of racially discriminatory redistricting. And this could happen any day now.

The new maps lawmakers could draw could dramatically dilute Black and Brown Americans’ political power — moving people of color into districts where their voices are left out and their freedom to elect the candidates of their choice is stripped.

Our analysis with Black Voters Matter Fund identified that such a ruling could secure Republicans 19 more safe U.S. House seats — significantly undercutting Black and Latino representation in Congress and cementing long-term one-party control even if Republicans lose the overall popular vote.

And our latest report laid bare how GOP legislatures could eliminate approximately 191 state legislative seats currently held by Democrats — the vast majority of which are held by Black representatives in majority-minority districts.

We’ll still have a chance to fight back for fair maps. But first, we need to make sure as many people as possible know about the threat we face. That way, they’ll be prepared to respond.

So there’s a concrete action we’re asking you to take today: share our new report that outlines the potential ruling’s sweeping consequences.

No matter which medium you choose, the message will be clear: Free and fair elections are in grave danger. And we must be ready to defend our democracy.

At Fair Fight Action, we’re mobilizing to respond to a harmful ruling with grassroots organizing, public education, coalition building, and pressure campaigns to stop politicians from rigging new voting maps.

And the more people you help bring into this fight, the more impact we will be able to make.

So thank you for taking a moment to let people know about this potential Supreme Court decision.

In solidarity,

The Fair Fight Action Team
