John, with the chaos coming out of Washington, state supreme courts are at the forefront of the fight to protect Americans’ rights and freedoms.

That’s why our State and Local Campaigns team is investing heavily in state Supreme Court races this year, starting with Justice Anita Earls’ race in North Carolina and Judge Chris Taylor’s race in Wisconsin.

In North Carolina, the right to vote is under direct attack, which is why it is critical we flip the balance of the court in 2028. That begins with reelecting Justice Anita Earls in 2026. She’s dedicated her career to upholding the rule of law and defending equality and voting rights for all North Carolinians.

In Wisconsin, progressives have a narrow majority – thanks to the victories of EMILYs List-endorsed women Justice Janet Protasiewicz and Justice Susan Crawford in 2023 and 2025 – but it’s critical we expand it. We know Judge Chris Taylor has what it takes to flip the court’s open seat and protect the rights of Wisconsinites for years to come.

It has never been more important to have justices with histories of respecting reproductive rights on our highest courts. With the increasing number of abortion bans from coast to coast, state supreme courts play a critical role in protecting our reproductive freedom and deciding whether those bans can be implemented.
