“Under Governor Healey and the Democrats’ watch, one of the largest public fraud scandals in Massachusetts’ history has been exposed. This isn’t an isolated incident — this is the culture of negligence and lack of accountability that has blossomed under Democrats’ One-Party rule in Massachusetts. Now is the time for solutions and real accountability from Democrats; anything less would be a disservice to the millions of hard working Bay Staters our government serves.” – MassGOP Chair Amy Carnevale
Growing Ranks
In 2025, we proudly welcomed not one, but two, sitting New Bedford City Councilors to the Republican Party. New Bedford Ward 1 City Councilor Leo Choquette left the Democratic Party to join the GOP in December, following in the footsteps of Ward 3 City Councilor Shawn Oliver, who switched his registration from unenrolled to Republican in August.
Massachusetts voters who feel left behind by Democratic leadership are not alone.
From city halls to school committees, Massachusetts Republicans serving in government continue to grow the party from the ground up, including:
- Shaunna O’Connell, Mayor of Taunton
- Todd Taylor, Chelsea City Councilor
- Mark Bodanza and Thomas Ardinger, Leominster City Councilors
- Rick Coughlin, Weymouth Town Councilor
- Jeffrey Thompson, Brockton City Councilor
- Jay DiLisio and Jonathan Tavares, Attleboro City Councilors; and so many more…
2025 also saw the election of a new wave of Republican voices, including:
- Christopher Peckham, Fall River City Council
- Jaclyn Corriveau, Peabody City Council
- Will Crocker, Barnstable Town Council
- Sean Powers, Braintree Light Board
And Republican-backed candidates earned important victories on several school committees, including:
- Marc Kurzberg, Braintree School Committee
- Maura Ryan-Ciardiello, Haverhill School Committee
- Stephen Pina, Brockton School Committee
- Kathleen Roy, re-elected to the Worcester School Committee
Special shoutout to Jaclyn Corriveau, whose successful Peabody City Council campaign led the field in grassroots outreach, knocking more than 5,300 doors! Congratulations to Jackie on this outstanding and well-earned accomplishment.
Finance
MassGOP raised $1,425,300 in 2025, representing 140% of our $1,015,000 goal for the year. Those funds were raised methodically (I can’t count the hours of phone calls!) to support down-ballot candidates at record levels while simultaneously buttressing the Party’s balance sheet.
By bringing key services in-house and negotiating aggressively, we delivered meaningful savings direct to our candidates last year:
-
$130,000 in coordinated candidate mail at a postage savings of nearly 60 cents per piece, representing approximately $80,000 in savings.
-
$20,000 saved through the Party’s own coordinated texting service, enabling candidates to bypass more expensive outside vendors.
These savings were passed on to nearly 100 municipal candidates over the course of the year, resulting in historic levels of support for the Party’s bench of up-and-coming talent.
In case you missed our recent news, MassGOP endorsed U.S. Senate candidate John Deaton, advised by Republican State Committee Member Caroline Alcock Cunningham, recently made what we believe is the largest ever contribution to the MassGOP. John’s exceedingly generous contribution was made to unite the party by retiring much of the remaining debt left by past party leaders. The financial health of the Massachusetts Republican Party has finally been restored, better positioning our Party for victory in November - up and down the ticket.
