[ [link removed] ]Ayanna Pressley for Congress
Rogue, masked federal agents are violating people’s civil rights. They are
terrorizing our communities in the name of so-called ‘law and order.’ They
are abducting children from their classrooms. They are deporting families
without due process. They are shooting people in broad daylight.
In Donald Trump’s America, this is our reality. We cannot allow the
hostile acts of this administration to be normalized. We must condemn,
resist, and reject them at every turn. And most importantly, we must
abolish ICE.
I’ve long-held the position that ICE must be abolished. We cannot reform
this agency through new trainings or revised protocols. This position is
not extreme. What we’re seeing happening to our neighbors on our streets
is what’s extreme.
[ [link removed] ]Now is the time to show that abolishing ICE has strong support. Sign on
if you agree: Demand Congress abolish ICE and dismantle this cruel,
callous, and inhumane agency that perpetuates violence against immigrants.
[ [link removed] ]ABOLISH ICE
The current occupant of the White House would have you believe he is
pursuing hardened criminals. That’s a lie.
According to ICE’s own data, 85 percent of the people detained in
Massachusetts — my home state — have no criminal record.
My office has documented hundreds of cases marked by excessive force,
racial profiling, and the unlawful arrest of legal residents. But the
cruelty is being felt nationwide.
We’ve seen the videos of ICE shooting and killing Renee Good, an unarmed
mother and poet.
We’ve seen the videos of masked agents descending on the Allston car wash,
disappearing a 67-year-old man for days without access to his medication.
We’ve seen the videos of American citizens being wrongfully detained and
subjected to excessive force by ICE agents.
[ [link removed] ]Enough is enough. Now is the time. Please add your name and raise your
voice to demand that Congress abolish ICE and protect our immigrant
communities.
If enough of us speak out in defense of communities being terrorized by
ICE agents, I know we can make this a reality.
In solidarity,
Ayanna
