Legislative Session Week 2 Advocacy Roundup
Next week will mark the second week of the 2026 legislative session. Session is in full swing already, and there are important bills being heard that impact funding for human services and consumer protections. Here are some actions you can take to make your voice heard in the legislature:
TAKE ACTION: Urge your lawmakers to support the Well Washington Fund
The impacts of lost federal funding from the passage of HR1 are going to be sharply felt by Washingtonians as soon as this year. Hardworking families and individuals who rely on programs like SNAP and Medicaid to make ends meet will soon be left to go without. Our state needs a short-term solution to backfill that lost funding and minimize cuts to housing, healthcare and social services that keep Washingtonians healthy and fed.
HB 2100, the Well Washington Fund, is a strong path towards making up crucial funding lost by HR1. By creating a company-paid tax on high salaries, we could bring in $2.5 billion dollars per year to support the programs that Washingtonians rely on.
TAKE ACTION by emailing your House representatives and encouraging them to support HB 2100:
