John,
What’s happening in Minneapolis and across the country right now has left our communities shaken.
An ICE agent shot a mom in the face in Minneapolis while she was sitting in her car.
He didn’t shoot her because she posed a real threat, but because these agents felt like they had the right to corner and intimidate her.
Video shows she was surrounded while in her vehicle and attempted to drive away. Yet the agent fired anyway, dropping the cell phone that he was holding in his other hand. Then, after killing her called her an F***ing B****.
Not because he was threatened, not because he had no other choice, but because disagreement is an enemy to them and violence is acceptable.
And now they're bringing that same aggression here to the Valley, raiding job sites and racial profiling.
As your congressman, I'm going to tell them al Valle se le respeta. Dignity and respect for every person’s rights and safety always come first. South Texas is a community built on families, labor, faith, and hard work.
If you believe families in South Texas deserve dignity, I’m asking you to add your name to our petition calling for transparency, accountability, and humane enforcement practices.
