Donald Trump’s EPA just made a major shift: they will no longer consider the lives saved from two of the most deadly air pollutants when setting air pollution limits. Isn’t that crazy?
That means they don’t care if we’re breathing in toxic chemicals that cause asthma and other serious health conditions. They are rigging the game to let corporate polluters off the hook so they can continue pumping unlimited amounts of dirty pollution into the air.
This new "Dirty Air Rule" is a blatant giveaway to some of the worst corporate polluters including coal-burning power plants, oil refineries, steel mills, and other industrial facilities. It will only result in more severe health issues, hospitalizations, and premature deaths.
SEEC Members like Co-Chair Rep. Paul Tonko are leading the fight to protect the Clean Air Act and ensure that our air stays protected for future generations.
Thanks to your help in 2024, SEEC PAC re-elected over 95% of our pro-environment members to the U.S. House of Representatives — defying the odds on a night when Democrats lost seats. Now we are counting on you to help our SEEC members pass climate, clean energy and environmental justice policies in the 119th Congress while we continue fighting for a sustainable future.
