Being threatened with investigation, arrest and hanging by the President of the United States.
The very sad and disappointing fact is that to this president, the truth doesn't matter and facts don't matter. And anyone who disagrees with him becomes an enemy, and he then weaponizes the federal government against them. It's legal intimidation and physical intimidation meant to get you to shut up.
He uses legal harassment as an intimidation tactics to scare people out of speaking up. He’s done it to law firms, universities, private sector companies, politicians, and private individuals.
I'm up next...
But it’s not going to work.
I swore an oath to the Constitution, many times, most recently one year ago as a United States Senator. An oath to the Constitution -- not to any one man, not to any one president.
I've taken that oath seriously ... every time.
Right now speaking out against the abuse of power is the most patriotic thing we can do, so I am not going to take these attacks lying down. But fighting back requires a legal strategy -- and the unfortunate truth is that requires resources. And the single greatest source of financial support I have is the response from people who care ... like you.
