Friend – The new legislative session began this week, and before things ramp up, I want to hear directly from you.
I make it a priority to ground my work in the voices of the people I represent. That’s why I’m asking you to take a few minutes to complete my 2026 Priorities Survey and share what matters most to you and your family.
As Chair of the Senate Transportation Committee, I’m focused on delivering real results like investing in transit, clean energy, infrastructure, and good-paying jobs, while making sure Washington stays competitive in areas like the technology sector. I’m also deeply committed to strengthening education, tackling affordability, protecting access to healthcare, and engaging seriously with the budget priorities Governor Ferguson laid out last month.
And sometimes, the most important work isn’t flashy – it’s foundational.
Take Highway 2. After severe storms caused major damage, crews were able to reopen the highway far faster than expected. That didn’t happen by accident. It happened because we’ve invested in transportation preservation and maintenance, built resilient systems, and staffed agencies with experienced professionals who know how to respond in a crisis.
It may not make headlines, but it matters. When our highways and bridges are in good shape, they’re less vulnerable to damage during floods and emergencies. That’s what competent, responsive, responsible government looks like.
As we kick off the new session, I want to make sure I’m fighting for the priorities that matter most to you – whether that’s lowering costs, improving transit, modernizing infrastructure, reforming our tax system, or preparing Washington for the future economy.
Please take a moment to share your thoughts:
Thank you for being engaged, thoughtful, and committed to making Washington work better for everyone. I’m grateful for your partnership, and I’m ready to get to work.
All my best,
Marko
