New reporting from CNN makes the stakes clear: President Trump wants to slash federal funding for climate and weather research, including gutting National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) programs that power storm forecasts, flood warnings, and wildfire and heat alerts.

As the Trump administration pushes to eliminate all NOAA research laboratories and mission-critical planning, Maria Cantwell is stepping up, pushing back, and telling Trump “No.”

As the Ranking Member on the Senate Commerce Committee, Sen. Cantwell is standing up for the science that keeps communities safe. She put it plainly:

“Don’t cut these forecasters. Don’t cut these key tools that are part of an emergency response system. The Trump administration proposal is astounding, short-sighted, and potentially deadly.”

Maria’s right. And she’s leading the fight to block these reckless cuts - but she needs visible public support as she takes on the Administration.

Please! Take a moment and add your name to stand with Maria and tell the Senate and Congress: No federal funding cuts for climate and weather research.

This is a moment when pressure can make the difference. But only if legislators on both sides of the aisle and the Trump administration know the public opposes gutting NOAA programs.

Let’s back leaders like Maria who are standing up for safety, preparedness, and science.

Thank you,

Team Cantwell
