DEFENDING TAXPAYERS THROUGH THE DEPORTATION OF ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS WHO COMMIT FRAUD Programs like Medicare and Social Security are vital taxpayer-funded programs and must be safeguarded against fraud. Illegal immigrants who fraudulently enroll and exploit these programs must be held accountable for their crimes. That’s why I’m glad to support legislation to ensure that illegal immigrants who defraud taxpayers are deported and never allowed back into our country. I will always protect Iowa taxpayers from fraud and honor our promise to Iowa seniors and workers that they receive the benefits they have earned. WORKING TO STRENGTHEN IOWA'S FINANCIAL FUTURE AND OUR COMMUNITY BANKS On Wednesday, I had the pleasure of meeting with my friend and President of the Iowa Bankers Association, Adam Gregg, along with his colleagues, Melissa Spurgin and Makayla Winecke. We had a productive conversation about the importance of the ACRE Act, cryptocurrency, and keeping our financial institutions strong. I am happy to have worked with President Trump to pass the ACRE Act through the Working Families Tax Cuts, helping support our rural communities and farmers across Iowa. BIG BOOST FOR AGRICULTURAL RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT Research in agriculture is essential to drive innovations that support our Iowa farmers who feed and fuel our nation. That's why I introduced the Advancing Cutting Edge Agriculture Act, which supports President Trump’s agenda to advance cutting-edge research that helps our farmers and producers tackle rising input costs, extreme weather, and foreign animal disease, while growing our export markets. I’m proud to lead this effort to strengthen the farm economy and help our producers be successful. INVESTING IN RURAL HOSPITALS AND RURAL HEALTHCARE ACROSS IOWA I’m glad to have worked with President Trump to deliver $50 BILLION for rural hospitals and rural healthcare! This funding will support rapid emergency medical services in Iowa, keep our rural hospitals open and operational, and make healthcare more affordable for Iowans. BANNING ELECTED OFFICIALS FROM BUYING STOCKS AND PROFITING OFF INSIDER INFORMATION  Since being elected to Congress, my promise to Iowans has been that I would serve with integrity and deliver real results for our communities. Being a Member of Congress should always be about service to the people, not a means to personally profit. I am glad to help lead the Stop Insider Trading Act, which bans elected officials from buying stocks and profiting off insider information while working to restore trust between Congress and the American people. WORKING FAMILIES TAX CUTS DELIVER BIGGER PAYCHECKS FOR IOWANS Thanks to the Working Families Tax Cuts that House Republicans passed and President Trump signed into law, Iowa workers will see as much as a $7,200 increase in real wages! That’s more money in Iowans’ pockets and bigger paychecks for working Iowans. I am happy to have worked alongside President Trump to pass important legislation within the Working Families Tax Cuts, delivering direct results to hardworking Iowans. APPLAUDING GOVERNOR REYNOLDS FOR HER STRONG LEADERSHIP FOR IOWA This week, Governor Reynolds laid out a clear, conservative roadmap to lower costs for Iowa families, invest in our kids, and build a stronger Iowa. From supporting our small businesses to standing up for Iowa farmers and our rural communities, I know that she will work with the Republican legislature to secure important victories for Iowa.
