Dear neighbor,

The Trump Administration has sent a poorly trained, masked paramilitary force to states across America, including in Minnesota, to try to harass, intimidate, and scare people.

They want us to bend the knee and yield.

I want to be clear: the First Amendment of the United States Constitution gives the American people the right to peacefully witness, photograph, and film ICE operations.

The statute of limitations for violations of federal law is five years. So, while this Administration may not hold anyone accountable, I guarantee you a future Administration will and these videos can be used as evidence.

The Trump Administration has already lost. Public sentiment is everything, and Trump has lost the public’s sentiment on ICE, Border Patrol, and immigration. Multiple polls confirm they are 20 or more points underwater on these issues.

Today, I visited Minnesota with my Democratic colleagues to hear directly from local leaders, advocates, and victims of ICE overreach. House Democrats will not let up until we have accountability and justice for everyone who has been unlawfully detained, abused, and injured by this Administration.

On Sunday, Donald Trump posted that he is the “Acting President of Venezuela.” 

He’s doing such a great job that the U.S. embassy is warning all Americans to evacuate Venezuela immediately because there are roving militias trying to find U.S. citizens.

We need better oversight of what this Administration is doing on Venezuela. Democrats held a special hearing on Venezuela this week because Republicans refuse to hold a public one. If Republicans thought Trump was good at running Venezuela, then why are they afraid to talk about it? They know this entire operation is a disaster.

Donald Trump sucks at running Venezuela because he sucks at running the United States. Healthcare costs are skyrocketing, food prices are increasing, and energy prices are surging.

The Trump Administration’s solution is for Americans to eat “a piece of chicken, a piece of broccoli, corn tortilla, and one other thing.” This is ridiculous. Here's a picture of what they think is an affordable $3 meal.

Trump needs to reverse his harmful policies and focus on running America, not Venezuela.
