John,

This Monday is dedicated to honoring the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

Dr. King’s devotion to civil rights, equality for all, and democracy cannot be erased and resonates more powerfully than ever. He believed in the power of non-violent protest and community to uplift one another and build a more equal and just world.

We are seeing Americans live out his message each day as they take to the streets to defend our civil liberties and our democracy.

As citizens, it is our duty to work toward the equality and democratic freedoms that Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. stood for. Join me in honoring Dr. King’s legacy by participating in the National Day of Service on Monday. Use this link to find an upcoming volunteer activity in your community.

Today, hate is being used to divide our communities and drive political agendas. That’s why it’s more important than ever that each of us recommit ourselves to building a more just country rooted in equality, compassion and dignity for all.

Together, we can put our country back on track toward the ideals we were founded on. We can build an America that honors each of its citizens and ensures the promise of the American dream, but we must each do our part.

Please join me in honoring Dr. King’s legacy on Monday and every day.
