WASHINGTON, D.C. – America First Legal (AFL) has announced new findings in its ongoing investigation into Washington University in St. Louis (WashU). This week, AFL uncovered documents showing that WashU subjects students to institutional training that redefines sex, compels speech, and enforces compliance with radical gender theory.
Class materials obtained by AFL show that WashU promotes so-called “infinite pronouns” like ze/hir and trains students to practice “sitting in discomfort” rather than challenging the ideas being imposed. WashU does not encourage debate; it pathologizes disagreement — abandoning the fundamental principle of higher education.
“This is ideological coercion,” said Megan Redshaw, Counsel at America First Legal. “Washington University is compelling students to deny biology, parrot approved speech, and submit to radical gender theory. Universities are supposed to pursue truth through learning, not conformity.”
AFL’s investigation has exposed that WashU:
Teaches students that gender overrides biological sex.
Uses a “trans umbrella” to show students that gender encompasses genderqueer, agender, gender fluid, trans masculine/feminine, cross-dressers, drag performers, and “Two-Spirit.”
Enforces radical pronoun usage.
Mandates “allyship.”
Frames “sex” as changeable.
Labels compliance as a professional virtue.
Refames female-only spaces — like bathrooms and locker rooms — as discriminatory.
At WashU, ideological grooming is presented as fact and masquerades as education.
