Over the past weeks, the House Appropriations Committee has been
hard at work crafting the first legislative package of fiscal
year 2021 appropriations bills.

These bills cover investments in agriculture and rural
development, the environment, and veterans’ affairs – among many
other issues.

As a senior member of the House Appropriations Committee, Matt
was instrumental in securing funding to:

* Combat food insecurity and put nutritious food on the tables of
American families Increase broadband connectivity and connect
more Americans to work, school, health care, and family
* Protect our environment and build resilience to climate change
* Address rising veterans’ health care costs with $12.5 billion
in emergency funding

Matt worked across the aisle to bring these important bills to
fruition and get them passed in the House. At a time when the
American people need support more than ever, House Democrats
secured critical funding to keep families safe, healthy,
connected, and prepared for an uncertain future.

But despite this bipartisan work on behalf of the families of the
8th District, the attacks from Republican Jim Bognet calling Matt
a “socialist” or “lap dog” will continue to come. We’ll need your
support to ensure that our message of bipartisanship and results
can rise above the noise.
