Friends –

Yesterday I spent National Dog Day thinking about my best friend, Cali. She enjoyed her favorite treats and took her normal walk, saying hi to all of her dog-friends that passed by. But then I got to thinking, shouldn't every day be National Dog Day – with our pets being treated with the very best care?

Ken and Cali

Instead, many animals are stuck in government labs being mistreated and experimented on, even when we have so many alternative options available. I am fired up because animals like my sweet Cali could be in the arms of caring owners, but are instead being used as science experiments funded by your tax dollars!

It has been over seven months since I introduced the FACT Act in Congress – a bill that would help end unnecessary, painful lab testing on animals... testing that is funded by taxpayers like you and me!

The good news: we now have 22 members of the House of Representatives who have put their names on this bill. The bad news: The bill is STILL stuck in committee.

I need your help to stand up for these innocent animals, can you rush $10, $25, or more to help me end painful animal experiments?

Congress is too busy arguing across the aisle to focus on a simple bill that would improve the quality of life for thousands of animals. A bill that most Americans WANT.

Before August ends, we need to make our voices heard, before another month comes and goes – another month taxpayers like you and me are forced to fund the abuse of helpless puppies and innocent animals.

Friends, I need your help to get this bill out of committee, passed and signed into law. I need your help to protect these innocent animals from the pain they endure over and over again each day.

I will continue to be a voice for the animals that are being used and abused in our country, and I know my fellow animal-lovers will too.

Before August ends in just a few days, can you pitch in $10 or more to support this fight and help save helpless animal lives?

Sincerely,

Congressman Ken Calvert
