Trump weaponizing the DOJ crosses a line we can’t ignore.
John,
I want to be clear about what we’re witnessing right now.
This weekend the Department of Justice opened up a criminal investigation into Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell. Not because of any proven wrongdoing, but because he refused to do Trump’s bidding.
This is about control. Trump has been clear from the beginning that he wants unbridled power, and will punish anyone who stands in his way.
John, this is what authoritarians do. They use the powers of government to target those who won’t bend the knee, and dare the rest of us to look away. This kind of abuse of power corrodes our institutions and threatens the foundation of our democracy. We cannot allow it to go unchecked.
I’ve spent my time in Congress fighting for a government that answers to people, not personal vendettas. When lines are crossed, staying silent isn’t an option. I refuse to let political intimidation become routine, and with the support of this grassroots movement, we can continue demanding real oversight and accountability.
If you’re able, please consider chipping in to help me keep fighting in Congress — to push back against Trump’s authoritarian agenda, hold this administration accountable, and make it clear that no one is above the law.
