Hey John -

Dan Crenshaw here. I hope you are well.

I’m continuing to support the front line health care workers battling COVID-19 in Houston and also am speaking out against calls for more lockdowns. We’re starting to bend the hospitalization curve down in Houston, and while we’re not out of the woods yet, this is encouraging news.

Follow me on Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram for regular updates and news you can use. As always, thank you for your support.

Now, here’s your brief:

I KNOW COURAGE WHEN I SEE IT

I know courage when I see it. And I’ve seen it in the Texans on the front lines of COVID-19 in our community. Our doctors, nurses, small business owners, and essential workers are showing the true spirit of Houston strong.

And I have their backs.

I distributed 50,000 masks to at-need communities in Texas.I worked to make testing free and supported billions in federal resources to expand testing, strengthen our health care system, and get small business owners back on their feet.

I’ll keep doing my part to support those on the frontlines and ensure our community  comes out on the other side stronger. We will get through this together.

WE HAVE TO BE HONEST ABOUT
WHAT CAUSED THE RISE IN COVID CASES

The left continues pushing the political narrative that reopening caused the spike in cases. But states began reopening months ago - Texas reopened in early May. What happened between then and now? Massive protests and big holiday gatherings.

We can find the right balance, but Democrats must be willing to have an honest conversation about the cost of lockdowns. Shutting down the economy, closing schools, and delaying elective surgeries already had enormous consequences for society. We can safely move forward with responsible personal behavior - wear your mask, socially distance, avoid large gatherings for a while.

We can do this.

AN ENCOURAGING TREND

New COVID-19 hospitalizations in Houston continue to be on a downward trend, according to recent Texas Medical Center data released this week. We aren’t out of the woods yet, but this is encouraging.

We need to keep it up. We can all do our part - wear our masks and social distance - to ensure we continue this positive trend and never lock down again.

Be safe and stay healthy.

In service,

Dan Crenshaw
