Dear Friends,

The United States Supreme Court ruled that Congressman Mike Bost has the right to challenge Illinois’ mail-in voting law, clearing the way for his appeal to move forward. In a 7–2 decision, the Court determined that Congressman Bost has standing to contest a state law that allows mail-in ballots to be counted up to 14 days after Election Day, despite federal law establishing a uniform Election Day nationwide.

According to reporting from Fox News, Congressman Bost’s lawsuit challenged Illinois’ ballot-receipt deadline as unconstitutional. The ruling marked an important step forward in the effort to strengthen election integrity, uphold the rule of law, and restore confidence in the electoral process.

Illinoisans deserve timely and transparent election results and should not be forced to wait days—or even weeks—for a winner to be announced. Laws that allow ballots to be counted long after Election Day undermine voter confidence and open the door to fraud. There is no legitimate justification for election policies that permit prolonged delays in counting ballots cast through early voting, absentee voting, or on Election Day itself.

But protecting our elections does not end in the courtroom. Election integrity starts with you. We need Republican election judges and poll watchers to help safeguard our elections, and we are grateful for Congressman Mike Bost’s leadership on this critical issue.

Election integrity also depends on engaged citizens who are willing to step up and serve. Election Judges are essential to protecting fair and transparent elections—and we need you now. Every county, township, and precinct matters, and strong participation is critical to maintaining integrity and confidence in our elections.

To serve, you must apply with your local election authority in the community where you live. We also encourage you to contact your local Republican County organization—or reach out to the Illinois Republican Party—and we will help you get plugged in.
