Two teenage girls were found in the trunk of a black Mazda. They had both been shot in the head. One of them had been raped. And for 24 years, the killer walked free. I knew that had to change. Now their killer sits in prison. I'll never forget the hug I got from one of the girls' moms. It was the tightest hug I'd ever felt. But it was her words that still stick with me: "I can finally sleep again." We couldn't bring the girls back, but we could deliver justice and hopefully provide some closure to a family and a community that had waited far too long. This is Republican Attorney General Steve Marshall, and I wanted to share a story about what delivering true justice looks like. That's why I became a prosecutor - to work alongside law enforcement to deliver justice and make our communities safer. When I see radical prosecutors and activist judges use their power to exert their political agenda, it makes my blood boil. That's why I'm stepping up to the plate to run for U.S. Senate. I believe we need more law-and-order conservatives and fewer career politicians representing us.
