This is huge. And it should scare the hell out of everyone.

Donald Trump just threatened to invoke the Insurrection Act — an archaic law that allows a president to deploy the U.S. military on American soil — in response to protests in Minnesota.

Let’s be very clear about what that means.

Trump is openly floating the idea of using the military against Americans exercising their rights. Not against a foreign enemy. Not against an armed rebellion. Against people protesting his administration.

That is not democracy. That is not law and order. That is dictator behavior.

The Insurrection Act is one of the most extreme powers a president has. It exists for truly extraordinary circumstances — and Trump is treating it like a political tool to intimidate, escalate, and silence dissent.

Even worse, Republicans are letting him do it! This is why the 2026 midterms are do-or-die. Because if Democrats don’t win back power, there is nothing stopping Trump from pushing even further — militarizing politics, criminalizing protest, and ruling by threat.
