'I Think We Are All F*ck ICE' | Congressman Mark Pocan Joins Susan Demas
With Democrats in the minority in Congress, is there anything they can do to stop the ICE budget?

“I think we are all ‘Fuck ICE’.” That’s what Democratic Congressman Mark Pocan says of the border agency in reaction to Donald Trump using the group as his own secret police.
Pocan, who represents Wisconsin’s 2nd District, joined Susan J. Demas to talk about a number of issues facing Americans, like soaring health care costs, affordability, and the Renee Nicole Good murder in Minneapolis.
Regarding ICE, the Congressman lays out the unfortunate comparison in history, pointing to the groups actions, like going door to door and making people carry papers, mirroring that of the Gestapo. In fact, that’s the term that many right-wingers’ favorite podcaster, Joe Rogan, is using.
“Anne Frank must be rolling around in her grave” Representative Pocan declares as this administration misses the horrors of history. “At some point, some Republicans have to put their hands behind their back, see if they have any vertebrae left, and whether or not they’re going to stand up, because we’re just not seeing it.”
We are also in a midterm year. And we’ve seen a number of Republicans announcing their retirement plans. Pocan celebrates those retirements, pointing to the one seat majority that the GOP has in the House.
One of Pocan’s predictions for this midterm election season: Three of the four Iowa Congressional Districts could flip this fall. Why? he lays out the harm this administration has done to farmers, looking at the ways tariffs and energy costs have hurt their bottom line.
