Last night, the Trump administration reversed its decision to cut nearly $2 billion from addiction and mental health treatment programs following significant public pushback thanks to the leadership of House Democrats like Lori Trahan.

When these cuts threatened youth overdose prevention, medication-assisted treatment, and community mental health services, Lori led a bipartisan group of 100 Members of Congress demanding answers and action. She made it clear that eliminating these grants would put lives at risk — and the administration relented.

This funding supports programs administered by the Department of Health and Human Services, including the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration. These programs save lives. They help families. And they matter.
