What is the future of accountable care?

The current U.S. administration has reinforced the commitment to having all Medicare beneficiaries in accountable care relationships by 2030, though the landscape of accountable care organization (ACO) models has shifted.

On January 27, join Health Affairs for a virtual event with a panel of experts and the outlook for ACOs through the perspectives of current and former policymakers and analysts. Panelists will also discuss current accountable care priorities from the CMS Innovation Center (CMMI).

Moderated by Hope Glassberg, president of Decipher Health Strategies, speakers include:

  • Hongmai (Mai) Pham, President, Institute for Exceptional Care
  • Gary Bacher, Chief Strategy Officer, CMMI
  • Frank McStay, Assistant Research Director, Duke-Margolis Institute for Health Policy

The event is part of the Accountable Care For Population Health series, which features analysis and discussion of models of accountable care and related policies. The series is supported by Arnold Ventures.

Date: January 27, 2026

Time: 4-5 p.m. ET
