Financial aid: Where in Washington can I use it?
Education beyond high school is more important than ever. Financial aid helps you access more options for the future.
Washington State offers many great financial aid programs [ [link removed] ], including WA Grant [ [link removed] ] and Passport to Careers [ [link removed] ]. An important first step in getting financial aid is to complete a FAFSA or WASFA financial aid application [ [link removed] ].
*Where in Washington can you use state financial aid?*
There are more than 60 participating institutions [ [link removed] ] in Washington, including various types of education and training:
* All six of Washington's public four-year colleges & universities
* Thirty-three community and technical colleges
* Sixteen independent/private nonprofit four-year universities
* One private, nonprofit two-year career college
* Northwest Indian College, a tribal school
There are also apprenticeship opportunities [ [link removed] ]. Eligible providers can offer their apprentices financial aid similar to what college students can receive.

BaS is a pathway to high-demand careers. This program provides up to a total of $22,500 in scholarship dollars and access to career-launching support services for high-demand STEM and health care majors. WSOS can cover costs beyond tuition, such as housing, transportation, food, and more. Funding can be used for any eligible STEM or health care major at any eligible public or private college or university in Washington.
