Back in 2008 when I first ran for the North Carolina State Senate, I had no idea what the future would hold. (I didn’t even have a Twitter account yet!)
But I ran to serve the people in my district. I knew I wanted to fight for justice, fairness, and equality for North Carolina families.
Things have changed a lot since that first race 12 years ago. I’m running for reelection now as your Attorney General. There are new challenges facing our state. I’m social distancing and frequently working and campaigning from home.
And unlike that first race, my campaign is being attacked by a shadowy, corporation-funded special interest super PAC that wants to try to buy this office for my opponent. I am confident we can win — but only if we have the help to fight back against their lies.
