__________

IRAN ON THE EDGE
[[link removed]]

_Helyeh Doutaghi _/ Progressive International

The Association of Trade Unions of Bushehr Refinery Workers (ATUBRW)
is the institutional backbone of working-class sovereignty in Iran.
The union articulates a politics in which workers’ demands are
inseparable from resisting imperial domination and advancing
collective emancipation.

__________

VENEZUELA: THE HOUR OF PERPLEXITY
[[link removed]]

_Omar Vázquez Heredia_ / Venezuela Voices

In the short term, Venezuela’s future will depend on Trump’s armed
threats and the ability of the acting president to obtain and maintain
the support of the military and police apparatus. We are still far
from the moment when the Venezuelan people, in the exercise of their
sovereignty, can freely decide their future in national elections in
which all political currents can participate on equal terms.

__________

KURDS RESIST SYRIA
[[link removed]]

Rudaw (Erbil, Kurdistan Region)

The administration of northeast Syria (Rojava) on Sunday condemned the
characterization of the seizure of Aleppo’s Kurdish-majority
neighborhoods by Damascus and its affiliated forces as a
“victory.” The Democratic Autonomous Administration of North and
East Syria (DAANES) described an “uneven battle” that involved
“the use of all kinds of heavy weaponry against simple individual
arms.”

__________

CRITIQUE OF _LA FRANCE INSOUMISE_
[[link removed]]

_Adam Novak_ / Europe Solidaire Sans Frontières (Paris)

The exchange between philosopher Frédéric Lordon and _La France
Insoumise_ raises questions central to ecosocialist strategy
internationally: whether electoral left formations can genuinely
challenge capitalism, and what distinguishes rhetorical anticapitalism
from the real thing.

__________

COLOMBIAN CANDIDATE SPEAKS
[[link removed]]

_Iván Cepeda and Pablo Castaño_ / Jacobin (Brooklyn)

Iván Cepeda is a senator for the _Pacto Histórico_, the left-wing
alliance that backed Colombian president Gustavo Petro’s election,
and its candidate to succeed him as president in the general elections
of May and June 2026. A human rights defender, Cepeda was involved in
the judicial process that ended in the initial conviction of former
rightwing president Álvaro Uribe.

__________

ASIA PACIFIC LEFT MEETING
[[link removed]]

_Markela Panegyres_ / Green Left (Sydney)

The Socialism 2025 Conference, held in Malaysia’s capital Kuala
Lumpur, on November 15–16, brought together about 200 socialists and
activists from across the Asia-Pacific. The _Parti Sosialis Malaysia_
(Malaysian Socialist Party, PSM) has hosted the event annually since
2005, and it has become one of the largest gatherings of socialists
and progressives in the region.

__________

GREENLAND ON THE HOOK
[[link removed]]

_Trine Pertou Mach and Pelle Dragsted_ / Rosa Luxemburg Stiftung
(Berlin)

Trump displays a remarkable ignorance (or simple disregard of facts)
when he talks about Greenland, one example is claiming that the
majority of Greenlanders want to become US citizens. They don’t,
especially seeing how their fellow Inuit are treated in Alaska — and
not even if Trump offers to buy them off.

__________

UK’S ANTIFASCIST BEACON GERRY GABLE 1937-2026
[[link removed]]

_Andy Bell_ / Searchlight (Essex)

The death of _Searchlight_’s founder Gerry Gable at the age of 88
marks the passing of a man without whom modern British anti-fascism
would scarcely be recognisable. For more than sixty years, he stood at
the centre of the struggle against fascism and the extreme right, as a
relentless organiser, investigator and strategist.
