its skin marked with dirt and small wounds. The image conveys the confined
and harsh conditions in which the animal is being kept.

John,

Millions of mother pigs are being ripped apart from their babies and
forced into metal cages so small they can’t even turn around.

It’s a living nightmare for these incredibly intelligent creatures who
feel joy and suffering, just like humans. Pigs form deep emotional
connections with their babies and need to create safe, comfortable nests
once they give birth. When they can’t follow this natural instinct, they
suffer unimaginable pain and psychological distress.

But we could finally make 2026 a turning point!

The EU is deciding its animal welfare laws *right now* and lawmakers are
expected to make a decision on these pig torture cages by the end of this
year – so we have a real chance of a ban. If all of us chip in, together
we could unleash tactics like laser-focused ads targeting key EU
lawmakers, polling, research, and whatever else it takes to defend animals
in the EU and beyond.

Can you chip in to help save millions of animals from cruelty?

Pigs are highly emotionally intelligent and complex animals. They have
long memories, understand the concept of time passing, and form deep
emotional bonds similar to humans – they even sing to their babies!

Yet millions of these fascinating creatures are still being trapped in
cages known as pig farrowing crates. Caging mother pigs supposedly
prevents them from unintentionally crushing their piglets but they also
take up less space, which means more pigs and more profits for the pig
industry. The truth is that humane alternatives to pig farrowing exist and
could be implemented right away.

Countries like Sweden, Norway, and Switzerland have already banned pig
farrowing and a similar ban is about to be passed in England – so we know
it’s possible. Now, it’s time for the EU to follow suit.

But here’s the thing: the EU has been kicking the can down the road for
years. It promised to phase out cruel cages but it won’t act unless we
turn up the heat at this critical moment and make it impossible for them
not to. Tens of thousands of us are already calling on the EU to end this
cruel practice – if we pull out all the stops in 2026, we could finally
force lawmakers to ban pig cages for good.

Enough public pressure now could make the difference for millions of
animals. Let’s make it happen. Can you chip in to defend animals from
cruelty in the EU and beyond?
