Let me share a story with you. Last week I met a farmer named Jerry in Tom Tiffany’s district that relies on the Affordable Care Act for insurance, like many farmers in our state. With subsidies expiring, his premium was set to increase by nearly 600%, from a monthly payment of $274 to $1,609.

But it doesn’t matter to Tom Tiffany that millions of Americans — including more than 300,000 Wisconsinites — are going to be hurting as a result of his vote. It doesn’t matter to him that small business owners are going to struggle to keep their doors open.

All that matters is protecting his corporate special interests who want to profit off of people who are just trying to get the care they deserve.

My position is clear: we should lower ACA costs, expand BadgerCare, and ensure that no one in Wisconsin has to worry about choosing between paying their rent or going to their doctor.
