John, you might have missed this news this week:

Under the Trump administration, the Environmental Protection Agency will no longer consider how many lives are saved by pollution limits. Instead they’re only going to consider how much money it will cost oil companies and other polluters.

Unfortunately this is not a satirical headline from The Onion, this is real and it is outrageous. The EPA is putting corporations over saving lives. And news like this is an important reminder about the different future that our endorsed candidates represent. We’re backing leaders who will put our communities first and polluters last.

Take Christian Menefee, for example. He’s running for Congress in Texas’ 18th District. During his tenure as Harris County Attorney, Christian has repeatedly sued and challenged concrete batch plants in Houston over environmental and health concerns. He has actively pushed for stricter regulation for notorious polluters and forced corporations to clean up their act.

This is the kind of leadership we need in Washington — especially at a time when the federal government is in the pocket of polluters thanks to Trump and his EPA.

We’re all in for Christian’s campaign for Congress. His run off is coming up on January 31 and he’s ahead in the polls but we have to make sure we don’t take our foot off the gas. He can win with our support:
