Deployed Service Members Need Your Help Now

As COVID-19 cases continue to increase across the country, the need for support continues to rise as well.

Since the start of the pandemic, the Army has dispatched over 50,000 soldiers to states across the country, while 178,000 troops have been deployed overseas to the Middle East, Europe, the Asia-Pacific region and other areas across the globe. Those activated in the U.S. have built hospitals, supported hospital staff, helped deliver food, managed nursing homes, and even made masks.

And now, those same service members are crucial to the development of a COVID vaccine as a part of Operation Warp Speed.

While these brave men and women continue to remain on the frontline to help take care of us during this difficult time, they need our help to take care of them.

From making care packages to writing letters of support, there are many virtual opportunities through Soldiers’ Angels that will allow you to step up and show your support for our military.

Click below to learn more about our virtual volunteer opportunities. Don’t have the time to volunteer? Purchasing an item from our COVID-19 Amazon Wish List or making a cash donation is also a fantastic way to support Soldiers’ Angels and help us continue our mission to ensure No Soldier Goes Unloved.

Together, we will get through this.

Veteran Internships

Soldiers' Angels currently has two great paid internships available for interested veterans. In San Antonio, the Adopt-A-Family Veteran Intern position will help provide support to military and veteran families during the holiday season. In Charleston, the VA Site Coordinator will organize events at the Charleston VA and help recruit local volunteers.

The COVID-19 pandemic has changed everyone’s lives drastically. Families are home, healthcare workers are spending countless hours providing care, businesses are closed, and more service members have been called to duty to support the ongoing Coronavirus efforts.

Despite these restrictions, we still have a vulnerable veteran population who need the support we provide on a monthly basis.

Thanks to our dedicated staff, volunteers, and multiple donors, Soldiers’ Angels has been able to adapt to these challenges so we can still offer support in a safe way for our veterans. Here’s a look at how we’ve shifted support within our veteran programs.

To celebrate the 4th of July, a group of Innkeepers from all over the country came together to send baked goods overseas.

When Karen Wilson learned that we were looking for more Angel Bakers [[link removed]], she jumped at the chance to participate. She and her husband, Steve, both have family in the military and wanted to have an impact on those serving overseas. The couple are also the owners of The Lion & the Rose Bed & Breakfast [[link removed]] in Asheville, North Carolina.

However, the couple didn’t just start baking, they actually reached out to their network of Innkeepers across the country to do the same.

In doing so, she launched a campaign - “Inn Support of our Troops” and encouraged Innkeepers to register and send care packages for the 4th of July.
