Jack, As July draws to a close, I wanted to share a few updates on what Kirsten and Off the Sidelines have been up to. Kirsten has been hard at work in the Senate, fighting for a COVID-19 relief package that puts American families and small businesses before big corporations. In addition, Kirsten remains committed to flipping the Senate and expanding our House majority so that the right leadership is in place in Washington to address the pandemic come January. I hope you’ll take a look at the latest news—and consider joining Kirsten for an Off the Sidelines event in the future! Thank you, Stefanie In the news As the Senate considers a fourth coronavirus relief package, Kirsten has been fighting for a bill that puts the American people—not big corporations—first: Kirsten joined her colleagues to urge Mitch McConnell and Senate Republicans to pass the HEROES Act and deliver desperately needed relief to the American people. Check out MoveOn’s video highlighting the work of Kirsten and her fellow Democratic senators. Our country's ongoing problems with child care have metastasized during this pandemic. Kirsten spoke with North Country Public Radio about the solutions she’s fighting for that offer our children, working families, and caregivers much-needed support. Kirsten sat down with CNN to discuss Mitch McConnell’s proposed economic stimulus package—and why it’s inadequate. Kirsten partnered with Data for Progress to make the case for postal banking—a win-win proposal that would revive the U.S. Postal Service and provide unbanked and underbanked Americans with critical access to financial services. Read her op-ed to learn more about why postal banking deserves its place in the Democratic Party’s vision for the future. Despite last month’s Supreme Court victory, abortion rights remain in jeopardy throughout our country. And these attacks on reproductive freedoms disproportionately affect communities that already face significant barriers to accessing health care. Kirsten penned an op-ed for ReWire on what’s at stake. Opportunities to connect Kirsten and Off the Sidelines are partnering with some amazing candidates and organizations for upcoming Zoom events. We hope to “see” you on one soon! Thursday, July 30, 3pm ET | Virtual event for Candidate for Congress Hiral Tipirneni (AZ-06) with special guests Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand and Rep.
