I carried that fight from the United Nations, where I helped to deliver the historic Paris Climate Agreement, to Phoenix, where, as the Vice Mayor, I expanded housing options, invested in clean, affordable transportation, and created good-paying jobs.

I’ve gone inside detention centers to demand humane treatment. And I’ve fought for my constituents — like Yari, a woman battling leukemia — demanding that ICE provide the care she desperately needs.
