Look, this is extremely simple — no president can unilaterally go to war without a vote of Congress. 

It is mandated by the Constitution that we have a public debate, in front of the American people, and hold a vote before we send our sons and daughters into war. 

Trump, as usual, is brazenly ignoring the Constitution — and it is long past time for Congress to reassert our role in matters of war.
