Last week, our nation witnessed a murder in broad daylight when a masked ICE agent senselessly took the life of an unarmed woman in Minnesota. In response, Secretary of the Department of Homeland Security, Kristi Noem, defended the killing and is refusing to pursue accountability.

Every one of Trump's picks to head up our governmental agencies has a few things in common. They are unqualified, and they will do whatever Donald Trump asks of them — even if that includes breaking the law and violating the human rights of individuals on American soil. No one represents this more than Kristi Noem.
She has turned ICE into a masked secret police that terrorizes our streets, violates the standards of due process, and destroys the lives of our neighbors. People are losing their lives because this woman is enjoying every minute of her Trump-sanctioned power trip. I say that enough is enough.
I've been fighting back by inspecting ICE facilities, standing with detained families, and co-sponsoring legislation to ban masked ICE agents so the public knows who is terrorizing our streets. But we must do more in Congress and across the country to stand up for our neighbors.
