John,

Senator Mark Kelly put his life on the line to serve and defend our
nation, as a fighter pilot and an astronaut. And he has always believed in
putting the Constitution and his country first.

I stand with him, and I am deeply proud of his courage to fight back
against the Trump administration's baseless and dangerous intimidation
tactics.

Donald Trump and Pete Hegseth could learn a lot about putting duty before
self from Mark and the other brave veterans speaking out.

I know too well what it’s like to be viciously targeted by Trump and to
have this administration come after me.

They’ve come after me repeatedly, attacked me in the Oval Office and on
Fox News, and even tried to launch a baseless investigation against me.

For Mark, they are attempting to deny his decades of honorable and
courageous service to the nation by threatening to demote him and reduce
his military pension.

Trump and Hegesth want to send a message to the generations of
servicemembers who took an oath to this country that the administration
will come after them if they say something Trump doesn’t like. It’s yet
another attempt to chill people’s First Amendment rights, silence critics
and censor speech. 

They aren’t going to succeed in shutting Mark up, and they aren’t going to
succeed in intimidating any of us.
