Jack, I want to be transparent about where things stand.
We set an ambitious goal to raise $250,000 this January, knowing it wouldn’t be easy. January is historically a tough fundraising month, and across the media industry, ad revenue continues to fall—especially for independent outlets like Daily Kos.
We’ve already seen what that pressure has forced other organizations to do: layoffs, paywalls, scaled-back coverage. We’re doing everything we can to avoid that. But we also know we can’t do it without strong reader support.
Right now, we’ve raised $52,616, which means we still have $197,384 to go before the end of the month. That’s a significant gap—but every dollar we raise helps power our reporting, our organizing tools, and the work our community relies on.
So I’m asking—if you’re able—will you chip in $5 or whatever you can today to support independent, progressive news and advocacy at Daily Kos? Small donations truly make a difference right now.
